Undergraduate Audition Requirements

Two contrasting pieces (technical and lyrical). It is recommended to choose a selection from the standard clarinet literature. All major and minor harmonic scales up to four sharps and four flats. Sight-reading. After the audition, the committee will conduct an informal interview where students are asked about their musical experience and their career aspirations. Students are encouraged to ask any questions about Miami's music program during the interview. The instructor will meet with the student (and parent(s) after the audition.

Unergraduate materials should be sent to the music office by Jan. 15 of every year.

Sight-reading. After the audition, the commitee will conduct an informal interview where students are asked about their musical experience and their career aspirations. Students are encouraged to ask any questions about Miami's music program during the interview. The instructor will meet with the student after the audition.

All HS Seniors and Juniors are welcome to schedule a complimentary lesson prior to auditions or campus visits!
