Each applicant, whether coming in as a first-year, transfer, or graduate student, must audition for admission to the Department of Music.
The audition is performed in front of the department's Admissions/Scholarship Committee and gives the applicant an opportunity to display his or her ability, meet the faculty, and have questions answered concerning all aspects of the Department of Music. The audition also serves as a scholarship audition for incoming students.

Please note: All students applying for a graduate music program must apply to both the Graduate School and the Department of Music. All students applying as an undergraduate must apply to both the Miami University and the Department of Music.
