Scholarships

The Department of Music has a number of scholarships independent of university grants that are available to incoming and continuing students within the department, the amounts of which vary from full tuition to $500. Scholarships for music majors are renewable for up to eight months if scholarship criteria are met. Scholarships harp playerare most often awarded to music majors and minors but are not limited to those categories. Scholarships are available in some applied areas for non-music majors.

All students who audition for the Department of Music are automatically considered for a music scholarship.

The awarding of scholarships is based principally upon the performance prowess of the applicant and the probability of success within the Department of Music.

The Department of Music also strongly recommends that students apply for need-based aid. Prospective freshmen should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by January 31 and ask that results be sent to Miami University.
